Travis Kelce Had Special Gift For Chiefs Teammate On Sunday

On Sunday afternoon Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Leo Chenal had his prayer answered – twice.
The former Wisconsin football star was the hero who kept the Chiefs undefeated season alive by blocking a 35-yard field goal attempt from Denver Broncos kicker Wil Lutz. The blocked field goal gave Kansas City a 16-14 win, and answered Chenal’s prayer.
“When they’re driving down the field and they cross the 50-yard line, there’s kind of like this heaviness sitting behind your mind,” Chenal said, via the Athletic. “It takes a prayer. I was literally praying, like, ‘Please, Jesus, we need something here.’ I do feel like my prayer was answered.”
Following the game, Chenal had another one of his prayers answered, thanks to star tight end Travis Kelce, who finished the game with eight receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown.
Chenal broke down the team’s final huddle in the locker room for the first time in his career before asking Kelce for something special. According to the Athletic, Chenal walked over to Kelce before his postgame shower to ask for his game-worn jersey.
The shirtless Kelce didn’t hesitate, adorning the game-worn No. 87 jersey with his signature and a short message to Chenal written in black Sharpie on the white No. 7.
“I’ve been waiting for the right time,” Chenal told reporters. “I felt I earned it.”
He certainly did.
