The truth about Caitlin Clark’s absence from the 2024 Olympics has been leaked. Coach Cheryl Reeve IS ‘COVERING THE SKY WITH HER HANDS’
USA Basketball Head Coach Cheryl Reeve expressed anger over a Caitlin Clark question following the WNBA star’s controversial Olympics snub. Reeve has launched a petition to ban Clark, citing her behavior as “rude.”
USA Basketball head coach Cheryl Reeve refused to answer questions about Caitlin Clark after the WNBA star was left off the roster for this summer’s Olympics.
Clark has become the biggest star in women’s basketball but the Indiana Fever player was controversially omitted from the 12-woman roster for the Paris Games.
Reeve also serves as the Minnesota Lynx coach and after her team was beaten by the Fever on Sunday, she was asked about Clark’s future with the national team.
‘Why the hell would I answer a national team question?’ Reeve said, according to ESPN.
‘I’m wearing Lynx. And I’m the head coach of the national team but I’m not the chair of the committee. Anybody want to venture into anything else?’
Clark was the No 1 overall pick in the 2024 draft and the 22-year-old has made WNBA history during her rookie season.
She has helped raise the profile of the sport – and increase attendances at WNBA games. But before Sunday’s game in Minneapolis, Reeve said she was not fussed about the prospect of fans coming to cheer for the road team.
‘I don’t give two s***,’ she said. ‘Not one s***.’
Clark lashed out at an opponent in the Fever’s win on Sunday, with the former Iowa star seen swatting a defender’s eye on the fast break.
At the end of the third quarter of the 81-74 win, Clark got a steal near Indiana’s basket before rushing down the floor in transition, only to be grabbed at halfcourt by Lynx forward Cecilia Zandalasini.
Officials eventually reviewed the play and instead of advocating for Clark, they sided with Zandalasini, by giving a technical foul to the potential Rookie of the Year.
