Taylor Swift Reaches A Massive Milestone With A Brand New Top 10 Hit
For the second week in a row, Taylor Swift claims three top 10 hits on the songs chart in the U.K. While her ongoing success isn’t surprising, the manner in which she manages her domination is interesting–at least to chart followers and her die-hard supporters.
Swift trades one top 10 hit for another this week in the country. The Official Charts Company–the U.K.’s Billboard equivalent–has a rule in place that only allows every artist to occupy three spaces at one time as a lead act. This stipulation has blocked the singer from earning many major wins in the past, but this frame it helps her collect another smash.
I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” debuts at No. 8 on the U.K. songs chart this week. The tune is new to the tally because it’s become one of the three most popular tracks from the superstar in the nation, while another, recent win has disappeared.
Swift has now accrued a milestone 30 top 10 hits throughout her career. She inched closer to this mark just last frame when she earned a trio of new appearances inside the loftiest tier on the roster, and now she’s added to her total once more.
As “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” debuts, Swift’s two other top 10 hits that opened inside the region last frame continue to chart well. “Fortnight” with Post Malone steps back from No. 1 to second place, making room for Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso” to lead. “Down Bad” falls from No. 4 to No. 10.
Last week, Swift’s third top 10 hit was “The Tortured Poets Department,” the title track from her latest full-length. That song opened at No. 3. Now, as “I Can Do It With A Broken Heart” takes its place, the former top three win is nowhere to be found.
The Tortured Poets Department, Swift’s new album, spawned all four of these top 10 smashes. That set debuted at No. 1 on its respective tally last time around. While Swift may have been forced out of the top spot on the singles ranking, her full-length is still in charge.
