Steph Curry leaves everyone gasping in disbelief as he sinks a jaw-dropping shot over the towering 7โ4โณ Victor Wembanyama.
Stephen Curry delivered a memorable performance in the final quarter of Team USAโs gold medal game, leaving a lasting mark on his international basketball career. Facing France in a 98-87 victory at Bercy Arena on Saturday, the Golden State Warriors guard not only showcased his signature shooting skills but also managed to outplay Franceโs towering 7-foot-4 phenom, Victor Wembanyama.
A striking photo from the game has captivated fans online, showing the moment when Wembanyama, despite his height advantage, leaped to block Curryโs shot from beyond the arc.
Unstoppable Curry
Curryโs impact in the fourth quarter was undeniable, as he scored nine points in the final 10 minutes to help secure Team USAโs fifth consecutive gold medal.
After France closed the gap to just three points thanks to a key basket from Wembanyama, Curry responded with a timely three-pointer that pushed the lead back to a comfortable margin.
He continued to dominate with two more three-pointers, including a remarkable shot while being double-teamed with just 35 seconds remaining, effectively putting the game out of reach.
Each of these clutch shots was followed by celebratory reactions from Curry and his teammates, who joined in on his iconic โnight nightโ gesture.
โWe always say, โDo what the game calls forโ,โ Curry said.
โYou just stay confident, stay present and donโt get rattled by the moment. Those last two and a half minutes were special, guys were hyping me up. Like I was saying before, every shot you take you think is going in. That [final one] was a solid flurry of shots. All I saw was the rim; I didnโt see who was in front of me.โ
Curry ended the game with 24 points, all coming from his 8-for-13 shooting from beyond the arc. This strong performance followed his impressive showing in the semifinals, where he helped lead a comeback against Serbia with nine three-pointers. In addition to his scoring, Curry contributed five assists and grabbed a rebound.
