State of Kate Middleton and Prince William’s marriage, according to Meghan Markle’s pal
A Royal author has shed light on what Prince William and Princess Kate ‘s relationship is really like behind closed doors.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have come under increased scrutiny in recent days after several news agencies removed Kate’s Mother’s Day photograph from their libraries on the grounds of suspected ‘manipulation’.
This comes amid speculation and conspiracies surrounding Kate’s health and whereabouts, with the princess having stepped away from the public eye while recovering from abdominal surgery. She is expected to return to her Royal duties after Easter
The marriage of the future King and Queen also came under the microscope in Royal author Omid Scobie’s most recent book Endgame, published back in November. Journalist Scobie, 42, who previously penned Meghan Markle and Price Harry’s biography Finding Freedom, is often described as Meghan’s ‘mouthpiece’.
In Endgame, subtitled ‘Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival’, Scobie drew from intimate conversations with those said to be close to William and Kate, and painted an idyllic picture of their family life at ‘modest’ four-bedroom Adelaide Cottage in the grounds of the Windsor estate.
Windsor’s quiet, rural environment is exactly what they were looking for,” Scobie wrote. “The royal estate, said sources, provides the children with plenty of safe space to run, cycle and play in privacy.”
Scobie went on to share how William or Kate share drop-off and pick-up duties at the nearby Lambrook School, while William travels to the castle on an e-scooter each day, to use its office space.
As for his marriage to Kate, it is described as being as peaceful as their domestic set-up. “Sources said William’s marriage to Kate remains solid. It’s a partnership, an alliance, and a lifetime commitment”, he wrote adding that William and Kate “work as a team”, and the Prince is “incredibly proud” of his wife – specifically of her role as a senior working royal.
Their Royal duties play a huge part in their relationship, with Kate supporting William’s milestone projects over the years. A family friend told Scobie they “both feel supported by one another”. Elsewhere in the book, Scobie claims the Sussexes’ departure “put more pressure” on the Waleses to “fill the working void left behind”.
Other explosive allegations inside the book include Meghan “never” wanting to “set foot again in England” as she has no wish to “dive back into the soap opera of the court”. Scobie also claims Kate and Meghan’s soured relationship is damaged beyond repair, and “every time she hears about Meghan, Kate shudders and giggles”. The book continues to allege King Charles dismissed a desperate plea from Harry for an urgent meeting because he was “overworked” and instead “ordered an assistant to get rid of him with the excuse”.
Kate yesterday apologised after admitting to having made several changes to the family photo, which sees her surrounded by her three children outside their Windsor home. In a message shared via Instagram, the princess wrote: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C”.
