Sofia Vergara’s 32-Year-Old Son Has a Famous Dog With the Cutest Name
If the apple of America’s Got Talent Judge Sofía Vergara’s eye is her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, then the apple of Manolo’s eye is definitely his dog.
The adorable pooch is famous in her own right, racking up more than 35,000 followers on Instagram and even fronting her own line of canine accessories. Her Insta bio hilariously reads, “Thicc Latina, Founder of @caninibybaguette, Sugar Mamma of @manologonzalezvergara.”
Oh, and she has the cutest name.
Baguette Gonzalez, could there be a better moniker for a Chihuahua? And her owner has confessed that his whole career is based on her.
“I just take care of Baguette to be honest, that’s my day job, she runs the show from there,” the 32-year-old explained in March 2023. After a photo shoot for their canine apparel brand, Canini (which is sold at Walmart) Manolo joked, “We’ve been shooting all day, Baguette has been wonderful. I’ve been a nightmare to work with as per usual, but it’s fine. She’s the one getting paid.”
He also revealed the way he fell in love with the pup, who is a rescue.
Five years ago now I adopted Baguette from a shelter,” he said. “I just walked in. I was looking for a cool, hiking, mid-sized dog, four-wheel dog… She fell asleep on me and I said ‘okay this is it.’” Aren’t all the best love stories unexpected this way?
Manolo has always been a fan of pups, and recently posted a throwback to his days wearing his “favorite 101 Dalmatians speedo” on the beach with his mom, who can be seen in the picture on a chair, wearing a purple bikini.
Maybe this is what inspired Manolo to combine fashion and pets.
“Every time people compliment me about my son, Manolo, it is very rewarding,” the 51-year-old actress told People in 2016, adding, “I raised him trying to set the best example and give him the best that I could. When people compliment me on him, on how well-mannered, how charming, funny and well-behaved he is, it makes all the sacrifices worthwhile.”
Like his mother, Manolo is pursuing a career as an actor. “She kind of wishes I wasn’t in this business like at all. She’s like: ‘It’s hard, why? Get a real job. Something stable,'” Manolo reflected. “She gives me a lot of advice. Sometimes I don’t ask for it, but she gives me a lot of advice.” Well, she does judge a talent competition.
