Royal Family Prince Harry and Meghan’s high hopes of returning to work as royals once again

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly discussed returning as working royals due to the ongoing health crisis within the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are said to have talked about a potential return to royal duties “at length” following the news that both King Charles and Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, are undergoing treatment for cancer.

It is said that the pair would consider coming back to the UK to undertake royal duties on “their own terms”, but the chances of this happening remain slim, according to royal expert Tom Quinn.

Palace sources have previously said they will not be invited back and that is not likely to change, even when considering Charles and Kate’s respective conditions.

Harry was reportedly left “shocked and upset” by the news of his father’s cancer diagnosis and he flew back to the UK to visit him in person in February. Likewise, the couple released a statement sending well wishes to Kate, 42, after she announced her cancer diagnosis in an emotional recorded message on Friday.

“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” they said, addressing Kate’s video.

However, Harry and Meghan’s desire to split their time between the UK and USA is not matched by the Royal Family, according to Quinn, who claims any offer to help will be rejected.

“Harry knows he will never be allowed to be a permanent part-time working royal staying six months in the States and then six months in the UK,” Mr Quinn told The Mirror.

“The family no longer trust him and, besides, Meghan is absolutely against it. There is far too much bad blood now for it to be even a remote possibility.”
