King Charles Struggling With Cancer Treatment: ‘Frustrated!’

King Charles is reportedly struggling to come to terms with his cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment, as per his nephew.

Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne and Charles’ nephew, sat down with Sky News Australia this week to share that the monarch can’t wait to get back to his royal duties, and that he is actually ‘frustrated’ with his cancer treatment.

Talking about King Charles, who was diagnosed with cancer last month, Phillips said, “I think ultimately he (King Charles) is hugely frustrated.”

“He’s frustrated that he can’t get on and do everything that he wants to be able to do. He is very pragmatic; he understands that there’s a period of time that he really needs to focus on himself

Phillips further added, “I think the overriding message would be that he’s obviously very keen to get back to a form of normality and is probably frustrated that recovery is taking a little longer than probably he would want it to.”

King Charles’ diagnosis came just about a month after Buckingham Palace announced that the monarch will be underdoing surgery for an enlarged prostate; the cancer was found during the surgery, as per a Palace statement released last month.

It is pertinent to note that King Charles’ daughter-in-law, Princess Kate Middleton, the future Queen, also announced just last week that she too is being treated for cancer.

Kate revealed her diagnosis in a heartfelt video message on Friday, March 22, in which she shared that her cancer was also found in the same manner as Charles’.

After she underwent a ‘major abdominal surgery’ in January, tests revealed that her condition was cancerous.

Kate shared in her statement, “My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

Both Kate Middleton and King Charles are taking a step back from royal duties while they undergo treatment.
