Kate Middleton makes a drastic decision in the midst of her recovery: Who is Tom White, her new secretary

Kate Middleton the Princess of Wales, has reportedly hired Lieutenant Colonel Tom White, formerly an equerry to Queen Elizabeth II, as her private secretary. This move comes after an invitation extended by the Princess during a public engagement last year, signaling a significant addition to Prince William and Kate’s household.

Lt Col White’s impressive background includes serving alongside the late Queen until her passing on September 8, 2022. His appointment in 2020 marked a historic moment as he became the first Royal Marines commando to hold such a position.

His distinguished military career includes serving in Afghanistan in 2009, where his quick thinking helped prevent a potential tragedy in Helmand, showcasing his invaluable experience and leadership.

Meanwhile, Prince William has secured the services of Ian Patrick, a former Government diplomat, as his private secretary. Patrick, who boasts a resume that includes working with former Liberal Democrat leader Lord Ashdown, brings a wealth of experience to the role.

The royal household is currently trying to balance between official duties and personal matters as the Princess continues her recovery from abdominal surgery. Middleton’s recent hospital stay has necessitated a temporary withdrawal from public engagements until after Easter.

Despite personal challenges, Prince William has remained active on the diplomatic front, advocating for humanitarian support in conflict zones such as Gaza.

The Prince is slated to participate in a special Thanksgiving Service honoring King Constantine II at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, on February 27.
