Ex-FC Barcelona Teammate Reveals Messi Secrets

Ex-FC Barcelona star Javier Mascherano has revealed some secrets about his former club and country teammate Lionel Messi during an interview with Shoot for Love.
Joining Barca in 2010, the defensive midfielder was turned into a word class center back by then-head coach Pep Guardiola.
This week, however, he claimed that Messi would have also been deserving of such a title had he chosen to ply his trade on the back line.
“If Messi were a defender, maybe he would be one of the best defenders in the world. He is impossible to dribble. Sometimes at Barcelona we played one-against-one and it was impossible to pass him,” Mascherano stated.
“We didn’t stand a chance against him. Sometimes, attackers know how to defend. Leo defended very well. He was very fast and when you tried to dribble him it was impossible,” Mascherano added.
The current Argentina U20 manager, who is the senior national team’s second all-time appearances leader behind Messi, told an amusing anecdote about the number 10.
