Coco Gauff, the third-ranked player in the world, was among the millions of music enthusiasts worldwide who were eagerly searching the internet on Super Bowl Sunday following Beyonce’s unexpected announcement of an upcoming country album.

Although country music isn’t her usual preference, Gauff is prepared to embrace the genre, even going as far as to dust off the cowboy boots she purchased at the WTA Finals in Fort Worth, Texas, if it means aligning with her idol’s wishes.

During a recent episode of the WTA Insider Podcast, Gauff expressed her admiration for Beyoncé, revealing that she and her friends have a dedicated group chat solely for discussing the superstar. Gauff even joked about the possibility of teaching Beyoncé’s daughters, Rumi and Blue Ivy, how to play tennis, expressing her willingness to pay for the opportunity.

Gauff is a huge Beyonce fan

Gauff, who won the US Open last year, shared her thoughts on Beyoncé’s upcoming album during her appearance on the podcast, which took place during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships. In honor of Black History Month, Gauff introduced “Coco’s Culture Corner,” where she discussed five significant historical moments that have had a profound impact on her.

One of the moments Gauff highlighted was Juneteenth, a holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. She also spoke about her visit to the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968, noting that despite the somber nature of the site, it provided valuable insights into her culture.

Gauff also praised Memphis for its rich musical heritage, describing it as a cultural hub for Black Americans. She emphasized the importance of sports as a means of escaping difficult circumstances, citing athletes like LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and the Williams sisters as examples of individuals who have overcome adversity through sports.
