Chiefs release renderings of ‘reimagined’ Arrowhead Stadium
Stadiums have become a huge discussion in the sports scene in Western Missouri, and the Kansas City Chiefs got in on the action on Wednesday by releasing renderings of a ‘reimagined’ home field.
The release came after the Kansas City Royals announced their intention to move out of Truman Sports Complex into a stadium downtown at some point in the not-so-distant future, pending a ballot initiative set to be voted on by Jackson County taxpayers later this year.
While the Chiefs didn’t imply an intention to move out of Arrowhead Stadium, their plan to modernize and upgrade their home field would constitute a major improvement over existing facilities.
Based on the images provided to the public on Wednesday, Kansas City’s fans could look forward to more parking availability, a better gameday experience, and much more modern designs than Arrowhead Stadium currently offers.
Nothing is set in stone yet, but if voters in Jackson County choose to support the Royals and Chiefs in their vision for the future, serious changes could be on the way at 1 Arrowhead Drive.
