Peter Phillips is ‘like an older brother to Prince William’ and has been ‘trying to support the Prince and Princess of Wales through Kate’s cancer diagnosis’, sources have claimed – as insiders spoke out following his split from his longterm girlfriend.
Many were shocked this week as news emerged that the Princess Royal’s son has split from his ‘rock solid’ girlfriend, Lindsay Wallace. The couple had been together for three years, and many had speculated the pair were so serious that an engagement could be on the cards.
Now, however, insiders have said Peter has faced a ‘pretty tough time’ in recent years, with his divorce from Autumn Kelly and the loss of his beloved grandparents, Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth II.
Speaking to The Telegraph, sources described how Peter, who is the eldest of the late Queen’s grandchildren, has been a steady support to the Prince of Wales. They said, ‘He’s always been that sort of slightly older brother to William, ever more so since Harry moved to America.’ Meanwhile friends added that he has been trying to ‘support’ Kate and William through the Princess’ cancer diagnosis.
