Coco Gauff recently shared an image on her official Instagram story, where fans spotted a young Gauff attending her icon Venus Williams’s match against Bethanie Mattek-Sands at the US Open tournament in 2012. This image surely took Gauff to a whirlwind of nostalgia as she attended Williams’s first-round match. Delighted Coco Gauff, reshared the image on her Instagram story and wrote- “7 years later I played her and then 11 years later I won the thing. Gauff who has been an ardent Venus Williams fan has always spoken about the American WTA legend’s inspiration in her life. After defeating Venus Williams at the Wimbledon 2019, fifteen-year-old Coco Gauff became a sensation. However, that couldn’t stop her from revealing her deepest teachings from her idol.

Venus Williams will always hold a special place in Coco Gauff’s professional tennis career as the former inspired Gauff to create an identity beyond tennis.
