Adele has cancelled on me TWICE and it’s cost me $5,000! Irate Canadian superfan who lost thousands when British star cancelled her Las Vegas residency in 2022 discovers trip he re-arranged for next month has been axed too

A ‘heartbroken’ Adele fan today revealed how the British megastar has left him almost $5,000 out of pocket after she cancelled her gigs in Las Vegas next month – two years after she shelved a swathe of shows he was also meant to attend.

Gabriel Dubé-Mendez, 32, from Quebec, believes that airlines and hotels serving Sin City should have an ‘Adele clause’ allowing people an easy refund on rooms because of her propensity to axe her concerts.
He has also slammed the lack of compensation for fans given she is thought be earning around $1.9million (£1.5m) per show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace until the residency ends in June. Tickets start at around $600 (£500) and go up to $7,500 (£6,000).

The 35-year-old London-born singer has now axed three sets of major shows due to various health and production problems in recent years. Fans caught up in the latest farrago won’t be able to get an automatic refund because she has not cancelled the ten concerts – just rescheduled them.

Mr Dubé-Mendez was due to fly in from Canada for her March 30 show. His trip next month was rearranged after he went to Vegas in January 2022 but she cancelled on that occasion too – just hours before she was due to perform – because she reportedly had issues with the set design, leaving him ‘heartbroken’.

He told MailOnline today: ‘I had just got over 2022 and decided to give her another chance and look what has happened to me. At what point do we need to stop idolising someone that’s taking advantage of her status to profit off people who aren’t making the gigantic sum she makes per night at the Caesars?’.

It’s just horrible that this topic goes unmentioned by her or the “Adele Access” team – people need to again re-plan their Vegas trip whenever she decides to perform without any type of compensation whatsoever, and really just because she’s famous she just accepts and assumes that people need to readjust their life just for her.

‘You got the regular obsessed fans that are a bit disconnected from reality and are willing to give everything they have and support this type of behaviour and then you got the people who are a bit more realistic that understand that she’s notorious for cancelling at random times in the past and are upset at the situation as this does not just affect their finances, it affects the time off they requested from work and all the life choices they had to do to be able to attend. And that none of it is spoken about by Adele or her team it’s honestly frightening’.

Adele still has 20 Vegas shows left before heading off to Munich for summer stadia gigs.

Her last world tour Adele Live saw her cancel her last two shows at Wembley Stadium in 2017 over vocal worries.

Jodie McAllister was meant to be at a Wembley show. She told MailOnline today: ‘I’m not surprised, she always said about her last shows she’d make it up to the fans. She never did’.

Adele revealed over the weekend that the dates of her residency that would be postponed, which included every weekend in March.
Over the weekend, Adele revealed she was taking several days of vocal rest after suffering a scare during her Las Vegas residency.

Posting a statement on Instagram. Adele wrote: ‘Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency. I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break.

‘I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s taken a toll on my voice.

‘And so on Doctors orders I have no choice but to rest thoroughly. The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date.

We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information ASAP.’

Despite some fans wishing her well, many were furious that she had postponed the shows rather than cancelling, which would mean they’d get a refund.

Danny Dalton, who was flying all the way from Australia for a concert, said his ‘trip of a lifetime’ was ‘ruined’ and asked Adele if she would buy back his $2,800 (£2,200) ticket.

He added: ‘It’s selfish not to cancel because that way you are entitled to a full refund. I can’t make the rescheduled shows – I’m Australian.’

Jennifer Martinez tweeted: ‘I want to say I’m shocked but I’m not, just disappointed.’
