Zara Tindall tipped to ‘pick up the slack’ during Prince William’s reign
Zara Tindall has been tipped to “pick up the slack” during Prince William’s reign, according to royal fans.
Princess Anne’s daughter has never performed royal duties on behalf of the monarch, and has gone on to have a successful equestrian career.
In 2012, Zara represented Team GB in the London 2012 Olympic Games where she won a silver medal
The 42-year-old travelled to Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire today to compete in a three-day equestrian event
The former world and European champion will compete with two horses in the Advanced competition at the Eventing Spring Carnival at Thoresby Park, near Ollerton.
This event will take place from today until Easter Sunday.
This means Zara is set to miss the royal Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel, which both King Charles and Queen Camilla will attend.
Despite Zara’s successful equestrian career, royal fans are calling on the mother-of-three to take on royal duties
This is in light of King Charles and Princess Kate announcing their cancer diagnoses, causing them to temporarily step back from royal duties.
One fan wrote on X: “Starting the X campaign to have Zara Tindall sign up to royal duties.”
Another said: “Time now for Mike and Zara Tindall to be ‘promoted’ and take on public royal duties to help the King and Princess of Wales.
“He deserves a knighthood and both would be magnificent in working for the Firm at this time
Britain could do with very positive, encouraging royals.”
A third commented: “William can make Zara Tindall or Prince Andrew’s daughters working royals. They will pick up the slack.”
Similarly, one royal watcher posted: “Zara would be great as a working royal!”
