King Charles protects Prince William from Harry and Meghan Markle with simple gesture
Amidst King Charles III and Kate Middleton’s health battles, the British monarchy’s operations are overseen by staff members. Recent significant changes to the Royal Family’s website directly impact Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet.
The couple’s extensive biographies were
replaced by a concise joint bio, while Archie and Lilibet’s profiles were completely removed. However, attention has been drawn to a statement on the site, reminiscent of one issued by the late Queen Elizabeth II during Harry and Meghan’s resignation announcement
While acknowledging Harry and Meghan’s perpetual membership in the Royal Family, King Charles unequivocally stated his and Prince William’s refusal to accept them back as working royals. This decision comes amidst reports suggesting Harry’s potential interest in a part-time royal role due to family illnesses.
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be returning as working members of the Royal Family but will remain much-loved members of the family,” King Charles’ statement read.
Royal expert Tom Quinn confirmed from palace sources that there’s no foreseeable return for Harry and Meghan to royal duties. Despite lingering hopes from the couple, the prospect diminishes as senior royal ranks dwindle.
Both Meghan and Harry still hope that at some point they might be asked back to become working royals on their own terms-it’s a rapidly shrinking possibility, but the couple have talked about this at length, and the fact that senior royal numbers are seriously down at the moment has rekindled their hopes,” Quinn noted.
