Meghan Markle is ‘seeking a CEO’ for her glitzy lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, sources have claimed.
The Duchess of Sussex announced the venture with a new Instagram account, which launched earlier this month, as well as a new website which invites readers to input their email address to learn more.
In a clip shared on the newly-launched account, Meghan Markle can be seen walking through her Montecito mansion in a black ball-gown, as well as cooking in her home kitchen.
Sources told PageSix.com the new brand, which comes six years after Meghan closed her lifestyle blog The Tig to join the royal family, focus on home, garden, food and general lifestyle wares.
Insiders claimed Meghan has been ‘working on this for over a year’, adding, ‘It’s all the things that are close to her heart — all the things she’s passionate about.’
It has now emerged the Duchess is ‘interviewing candidates’ to head up the company, with insiders telling Richard Eden the royal is seeking someone for the CEO role
Details of the project may so far be limited, but it has now emerged the Duchess could be set to sell makeup and beauty products through the brand.
In a trademark application document obtained by MailOnline, it seems Meghan is looking to market ‘Fragrance sachets; Lavender Sachets; Non-medicated skin care preparations; Bath and shower gels and salts…non-mediated hair preparations; Bath soap; Bar soap: Non-medicated hand soaps: Body creams: Bath oil: Body lotions: Cosmetics [and] Body Oil.’
A trademark application previously obtained by PageSix revealed it will sell a range of home goods including edible treats like jellies, jams and spreads.
Meanwhile the brand will also sell tableware staples such as cutlery, table linens and drinkware. The filing also covers cookbooks.
According to MailOnline, the company launch will coincide with the launch of a new cookery show featuring the Duchess on Netflix – with whom she has a multimillion dollar deal. Insiders also said the brand would also, at some point, encompass ‘a book and blog etc.’
