Princess Kate and Zara Tindall join forces to dismiss Meghan Markle’s outfit claims
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a number of claims against the Royal Family since “stepping down” as senior working royals in 2020.
Most notably in their tell-all Netflix documentary titled ‘Harry & Meghan’ which aired on December 8, 2022, Meghan claimed she purposely chose not to wear bright colours during her time as a royal so not to clash with senior members of the family.
However, royal watchers claim Princess Kate and Zara Tindall may have sent a subtle message to Meghan Markle when stepping out for Kate’s Christmas Carol concert at Westminster Abbey in 2022
As reported in the Mirror, Meghan’s theory turned on its head when Princess Kate chose to wear a festive deep burgundy coat with two striking buttons from Eponine London, which she accessorised with a matching bag and shoes.
The rest of the Royal Family also wore the same shade, with Zara Tindall wearing a similar coat, and Kate’s daughter, Princess Charlotte also wearing burgundy. Pippa Matthews, Kate’s sister, also sported a coat in the same colour palette to support her sister and her wider family.
The royal men also wore burgundy, with Prince William choosing a tie, and Mike Tindall wearing a tie in the same shade.
The future Queen dazzled on the night, dressing in a very festive manner and choosing to bring a touch of festive joy to the nation after two years of Covid disruption.
Harry and Meghan’s documentary contained interviews with their family members, friends, historians and journalists and was released in two volumes.
Meghan during one episode said: “To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same colour as Her Majesty if there’s a group event.”
She added: “But then you also should never be wearing the same colour as one of the other more senior members of the family.”
The former Suits TV actress also claimed during her last week as a working royal, she wanted to look “like a rainbow” so she chose bright colours for events.
