King Charles has ‘no regrets’ about letting Harry and Meghan go after getting ‘fingers burned’
King Charles III has “no regrets” about letting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle depart their senior working roles within the Royal Family, a royal expert claims.
Back in 2020, it was announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were stepping down from their roles as senior working royals. When they made their announcement in January of that year, their statement read: “We intend to step back as roles as “senior” members of the Royal Family, and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
Since stepping down from their senior roles, the Sussexes have set up lives for themselves in Montecito, California, and now, according to a royal author and expert, the King has “no regret” in the couple’s departure from England and the Royal Family as he with got his “fingers burned
Prince Harry’s father, King Charles III, is currently undergoing treatment for cancer but amid speculation as to who will step in for the King if needed, royal expert and author Tom Quinn has told The Mirror that “there is no regret at all about Harry and Meghan not taking some of the strain”. He went on to add that this is because “during discussions about whether the couple might be offered some official role it was pointed out that any minor disagreement could lead to public rows and attacks”.
