Prince William Enjoys Meal With ‘Special Guest’ In South Africa
Prince William traveled to South Africa to attend the 4th annual Earthshot Prize Awards on Wednesday (November 6), and set aside time to enjoy a meal with a few acquaintances the next day.
According to People, the beloved royal sat down with model Winnie Harlow, actor Billy Porter, and former Victoria Secret Angel Heidi Klum at Kalk Bay Harbor, sharing thoughts on all things Earthshot and enjoying delicious “braii.” Klum was also invited out to sea with the prince as he wanted to learn more about “sustainable finishing” in the region.
Before dining with friends, the Prince of Wales stopped to chat with hundreds of locals, including 47-year-old Kate Wardle who gifted the father-of-three a custom key ring.
“I bought some beaded key rings from the local lady selling them here. They had W and C on and three others for the kids. I said ‘Here they are if you would like to take them. He was so natural and relaxed and down-to-earth. I appreciate him coming here as he must be so exhausted after this week. To have him visit us in Kalk Bay. It means a lot to us here.”
Prince William was very thankful for the gift and unveiled that he’s never left South Africa empty handed.
Other locals told People that they spoke to Prince William about sending well-wishes to his wife, Kate Middleton, who continues to battle abdominal cancer, and that he was sure to thank them for their kindness.
The Prince of Wales shared new information about the Princess of Wales’ health after accepting his Earthshot Award, revealing that she was “doing really well.”
“She’s doing really well. Hopefully she’s watching tonight and cheering me on. She’s been amazing this whole year, and I know she’ll be really keen to see tonight be a success.”
