Meghan Markle wins defamation suit brought against her by half-sister Samantha

Meghan Markle has won the defamation case brought by her half-sister after a court threw out the case, according to new reports

The Duchess of Sussex was accused by Samantha Markle of spreading “malicious, hurtful, and damaging lies” over the comments she made with her husband, Prince Harry, in an interview with Oprah and on her Netflix show “Harry and Meghan.”

In her latest decision published on Tuesday, US District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell ordered that the case never be brought back to court after Samantha had “failed to identify any statements that could support a claim for defamation or defamation-by-implication,” The Mirror reports.

Honywell noted that this was the third time Samantha had tried to amend the complaint against her sibling seeking $75,000 in damages.

Samantha, 59, claims Meghan, 42, defamed her when she told Oprah during a bombshell 2021 interview that she “grew up as an only child” and didn’t have much of a relationship with her half-sibling.
