October 31 Will Be a Sad Day for Reacher Fans

Published

Sorry, Jack Reacher fans, but your streaming options for the two Tom Cruise-led movies are about to be cut in half. Netflix has announced that 2012’s Jack Reacher and 2016’s Jack Reacher: Never Go Back will leave the streamer at the end of the month.

Both Jack Reacher movies will leave Netflix on Oct. 31. Before Alan Ritchson stepped into the role of the former U.S. Army military policeman, Cruise played the character — who has appeared in 29 novels by Lee Child — in two well-received feature-length films. The first, Jack Reacher, was released in 2012, focusing on the titular character Reacher as he is called upon to aid in a homicide investigation involving a trained military sniper believed to be responsible for a mass shooting. The movie, based on the 2005 novel One Shot and written and directed by future Mission: Impossible helmer Christopher McQuarrie, earned favorable reviews from critics and was a box office success, grossing over $215 million worldwide off a $60 million budget

The sequel, based on the 2013 novel Never Go Back, was released in 2016, finding Cruise’s Jack Reacher going on the run with Army Major Susan Turner (The Avengers’ Cobie Smulders), who has been framed for espionage, as the two reveal a dark conspiracy. While the action sequences and Cruise’s performance were praised, Never Go Back otherwise received mixed reviews from critics, with many considering it inferior to its predecessor. The movie also failed to do as well at the box office as the first movie, grossing only $162 million. However, Never Go Back has since become a streaming hit, appearing atop a recent Nielsen streaming ratings chart.

Princess Kate and Prince William ‘surprised everyone’ with life-changing decision for their kids Prince William and Kate Middleton are devoted parents to their three children, and have made sure that their childhood is as normal as possible despite their royal status. More info Princess Kate and Prince William always prioritise their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six. Despite the responsibilities that come with being future King and Queen, the couple are hands-on parents, often doing the school run themselves instead of relying on staff. A Royal expert has claimed that the couple “surprised everyone” when they moved to Windsor in 2022. The family left their London home, Apartment 1A in Kensington Palace, for the more modest Adelaide Cottage. It was reported that the move was partly to be closer to the late Queen Elizabeth. Adelaide Cottage also offers more privacy and space for their children to live normal lives. The four-bedroom property doesn’t have room for live-in staff, so the family have the whole place to themselves, with some staff reportedly coming in during the day to assist according to the Mirror. William and Kate are keen to give their children a normal upbringing(Image: Getty Images) Royal expert Duncan Larcombe shared with OK!, “I think they surprised a lot of people when they moved there,” adding, “There are plenty of other places they could have moved to, but Adelaide Cottage fits with their desire as parents to be a normal family, where there aren’t servants and they don’t have 30 rooms. William would much rather have his kids around him, in the rooms next door to where he’s sleeping.” Join the Daily Record’s WhatsApp community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages. Fellow Royal commentator Katie Nicholl also told the publication: “They are very, very happy there. Being able to live in the middle of Windsor Home Park, where they’re not overlooked and can come and go in complete privacy, makes the downsize from Kensington Palace worth it on every level,” before explaining, “There’s not a huge amount of space, but Adelaide Cottage ticks all the right boxes.” CONTINUE READING More on Kate MiddletonPrince WilliamRoyal Family News Sport Celebs Life & Style Follow Us © 2024 Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd
