WWE’s biggest stars John Cena and Randy Orton have had one of the most iconic and long-running feuds in WWE’s history. They have locked horns multiple times from singles matches to iconic championship title fights.
The on-screen chemistry between the two WWE legends coupled with their star power made this rivalry a centerpiece of the WWE storyline for much of the 2000s and early 2010s.
Cena has announced his future retirement from in-ring action at the end of 2025 as he focuses on his acting career. While Orton is still active in the promotion.
WrestleMania 41 will be the last WrestleMania for Cena but the opponents are still unknown. If the WWE decided to match up Cena and Orton for one final time it would be an amazing send-off to such a great rivalry.
John Cena is a record 16-time world champion alongside Ric Flair
Cena is not only regarded as one of the greatest WWE stars of his generation but also holds a record number of world championships to his name. He has won the WWE Championship a total of 13 times and the World Heavyweight Championship 3 times.
Cena is tied alongside WWE Hall of Famer Rick Flair for a total of 16 world championship titles to their name. Although, he isn’t very active in the ring after shifting his focus to his acting career.
Cena is still regarded greatest professional wrestler of all time by his peers including Kurt Angle, John “Bradshaw” Layfield, and Paul Heyman.

Randy Orton is a third-generation professional wrestler
Orton has a total of fourteen WWE World titles in his WWE career which spans over two decades. He has won the WWE Championship 10 times and the World Heavyweight Championship a total of four times.
The Viper is tied with Triple H for the third-most World Championships in WWE history. He is behind John Cena and Ric Flair who have 16 World Championships to their name.
Orton is currently active in the WWE and has expressed his desire to fight Cena before the former 16-time World Champion retires.
Despite their in-ring rivalry that spanned years, Cena and Orton are real-life friends and have mutual respect for each other. On one occasion Orton has also expressed his desire for Cena to induct him into the Hall of Fame.
“I don’t know if I’d be able to get Cena to come in from Hollywood to do it, maybe he could do it virtually, I don’t know,” Orton stated.
