Travis Kelce Get a ‘Fresh Cut’ and Beard Trim After Super Bowl Frenzy
Travis Kelce isn’t just a three-time Super Bowl champ and star NFL player, he’s a style icon–and now, fans got a behind-the-scenes look at how he stays looking so sharp.
In a new video uploaded by celebrity barber Vince Garcia on Sunday, March 3, the 34-year-old football pro was seen getting a “fresh cut” and beard trim just weeks after winning his third Super Bowl.
Garcia documented his creative haircutting process for fans on Instagram, who seemed more than interested in the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s transformation.
My brother @killatrav pulled up last week to get that fresh cut after winning his 3rd Super Bowl!” Garcia wrote in the caption. “After growing out the beard for 2mo it was time to cut it back down! Congrats once again fam, well deserved my G!”
Kelce previously hinted that he was growing out his beard as a mere “good luck charm” ahead of the big game, telling his New Heights podcast listeners that he could “feel the power of it.”
That said, when he was spotted landing in Sydney to support his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, during the Australian leg of her Eras Tour, he arrived on the scene looking much different than when he played the San Francisco 49ers in the big game. Presumably, Kelce opted to clean up his shave and shorten his hair before flying overseas, where the temps were much warmer.
In the clip, Kelce embraced his cleaned-up aesthetic, joking that it “just got colder in here” as his stylist began shaving.
“Man, just a new chapter, I guess, man,” Kelce added. “Finished the old one. Had to get it off my face, clean it up, stop looking like a Neanderthal,” he joked as the camera showed off just how much hair was taken off.
When all was said and done, Kelce quipped, “I haven’t seen this guy in years.”
Kelce’s commitment to his dapper looks is also reportedly part of the reason his international pop superstar girlfriend fell for him. A different barber who’s worked with the Chiefs player for years told reporters ahead of the Super Bowl that “Taylor loves the haircut,” adding that she “always compliments it after.”
Kelce’s haircut isn’t unique to him, despite how well he pulls it off. In fact, he publicly ranted about how “ridiculous” it is that he’s been credited with popularizing the taper fade.
“It’s a two on top and a nice high-to-mid fade with a taper in the back,” he said of his haircut. “I didn’t invent that. I just asked for it.”
