John Cena made his WWE debut on SmackDown in 2002, the beginning of the Ruthless Aggression Era. After a great two-year run as the Doctor of Thuganomics, Cena established himself as a main eventer when he won the WWE Championship for the first time in 2005, becoming the face of the company throughout the next decade. In 2024, after a handful of years as a part-timer, Big Match John announced he’ll retire from in-ring competition in the end of 2025.
